OTIF – One Time In Full Delivery
Supply chains are becoming complex with each passing day so distributors, especially in the e-commerce space need to get products delivered on right time and in complete form or quantity. The risk of losing customers is immense because of multiple options for both, distributor and aggregator. Hence, “ON TIME IN FULL”, is a feature anyone linked to delivery and packaging business desires for.
This also becomes a fundamental measure when analyzing the performance of the supply chain.
Packaging can be a theater, it can create a story. – Steve Jobs
- 1 The expected product (reference and quality)
- 2 In the quantity ordered by the customer
- 3 At the place agreed by the customer
- 4 At the time expected by the customer (in many cases, with a tolerance defined in conjunction with the customer).
OTIF measures how often the customer gets what they want at the time they want it.
Organizations or individuals decide a fixed time for product/ consignment to reach. This can be a requested delivery date and time. As it is supposed that the delivery should be on time as decided, it is equally important that the delivery should not be too early either.
Full means customers get exactly the amount they have ordered without any damages to the original product.
